Role at IU: I build relationships with suppliers across the travel industry to provide an efficient, costeffective travel management program to assist University faculty and staff in their research and business travel. I also consult with departments on travel and procurement card policies, best practices for planning and booking travel, appropriate use of procurement cards, and compliant expense reporting. As a people leader within the Office of Procurement Services, I structure workflow so it aligns with the goals for my units, and strive to assure each person knows their contributions are important and valued. My end goal is to foster an environment of shared ownership and visibility that leads to a culture of trust.
Previous Positions at IU: I have been in The Office of Procurement Services for eight years with previous roles as the procurement card manager and contract administrator. I began my IU career at the IU Foundation in annual giving.
Degrees and Education: B.S. in Education, Indiana University, NAPCP CPCP Certification and Six Sigma Certification, Acuity Institute
IUBSC Motivations: While I have been at IU for eight years, much of my career and work experience has been outside of IU and higher education. When I came to IU, I was fortunate to quickly make meaningful connections and to feel engaged in my new role. My motivations for seeking a position with the Indiana University Bloomington Staff Council are to provide positive leadership for staff, especially those who are new to IU and higher education, and to help them feel welcomed and supported as they navigate their career progression at IU.
