Child care vouchers
Families meeting income eligibility may apply for CCDF vouchers (Child Care Development Fund). All three IUB childcare programs accept CCDF vouchers.
Finding child care in Bloomington
The state of Indiana has an interactive, easy-to-use interface where families can search for programs near them, filter their search based upon their needs, communicate directly with programs, and claim available enrollment in real time.
Family and Social Services Administration regulates and oversees licensed Centers, homes, and registered ministries. They offer a service to help families find childcare within their community that includes licensing compliance. Go to Indiana.gov's Child Care Finder, and from the menu bar at the top select Find Child Care. Then select Find Child Care again and fill out the survey. The site will generate a list of programs that match the needs you identified. When you select a program you will have the option to review licensing compliance information for that site.
Families may also receive personalized assistance in finding childcare through the area resource and referral organization CASY (Chances and Services for Youth). To start your child care search, you may call 800-886-3952 (choose option 2) or fill out an online form and a Family Engagement Specialist will get in touch.

Campus Culture Centers
Culture centers on the IU Bloomington campus are not just for students, they are a great resource for staff too!
The Asian Culture Center
We asked: Are there any tips for "what not to do" at the culture centers?
The center answered: Instead of "what not to do," I am more interested to know what’s on their mind before coming to the center, what are their impressions, what questions they have for the ACC, and when they do come to the center, what was their experience like and if they learn something new.

The LGBTQ+ Culture Center
We asked: How could IUB staff contribute to or engage in the culture center programs and services?
The center answered: The best way to be engaged is to attend the various programs that are available each semester. You can also connect with us through our social media (Twitter, Facebook, & Instagram) orsign up for QNews – a weekly newsletter of Queer programs in Bloomington.
Advice for allies: “Be respectful and sensitive to the community. Do not assume everyone wants to share all or parts of their identities.”

The Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center
We asked: How could IUB staff contribute to or engage in the culture center programs and services?
The center answered: IUB staff can always contribute by supporting our events and the students. We appreciate all efforts to help promote our center and our programs. Supporting and collaborating with the center and helping us provide new opportunities to our students is always appreciated. Above all else, we ask that IUB staff do their part in creating a safe and welcoming space for Black students on campus. Beyond being respectful, IUB staff should also practice being mindful of the space they are in. For many of us, we see this as our home. We work hard to breathe life into our space and keep it looking great!
Advice for Allies: “We ask that you respect our space, our students, and our time. Get to know us by coming to events and promoting them. While we are beacons of Black culture, we do not speak for all Black people because our experiences are not a monolith.”
La Casa/Latino Cultural Center
We asked: How could IUB staff contribute to or engage in the culture center programs and services?
The center answered: To begin if they have never been to the center, I encourage them to make an appointment to get a tour and talk to one of the staff members. Folks do not have to wait for a program to make that first connection and learn more. Seeing the center firsthand often helps folks to better understand what we do, but to visualize how it is used to best connect students or others.
Advice for Allies: “Do not just see us as food, fun, and festival. The core of what we do is support and educate. Those two points are how we should be seen first and foremost.”

First Nations Educational & Cultural Center
We asked: How could IUB staff contribute to or engage in the culture center programs and services?
The center answered: It would be great if IUB staff would talk with us first before sending their students our way. We have students coming in to "observe" native students at the center, and its disrespectful and harmful. If a classroom project is administered regarding learning more about Native students, it would be great to talk with the instructor beforehand.
You are welcome to attend our events and set up an appointment to meet with us. To better help with questions or concerns, it easier for us to have time to better prepare for the meeting. The First Nations Educational and Cultural Center represents hundreds of nations, we want to give our attention to the inquiry with dignity and understanding.
Advice for Allies: “Do not just see us as food, fun, and festival. The core of what we do is support and educate. Those two points are how we should be seen first and foremost.”
